Dr. Rochelle Yang is an artist, curator, choreographer and teacher, based in Hong Kong and Zhuhai. Her teaching and research interests include visual communications, visual culture, new media arts, film and performing art studies. Before joining UIC she taught in the postgraduate program of Visual Culture, Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2009 to 2018.  Dr. Yang also taught as adjunct lecturer at Kingston University, UK-International Centre HKU Space, and National Taiwan University of the Arts.  Besides her academic career, she served as chair and curator for Art Gallery of SIGGRAPH ASIA, the art exhibitions for The Festival of Lights in Hong Kong, The China Biennale of Contemporary Art, and is currently an examiner in Hong Kong Arts Development Council. She received an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from CISAC (France) in 2008.

Mr. Craig Allen VOLIGNY is a mixed-media artist, his work incorporates research of the natural sciences with philosophy; the function painting has in contemporary culture and how traditional-media is disseminated through new-media. Mr. Craig Voligny, has exhibited his work in more than 10 solo exhibitions and 30 group shows on the local, national and international level. In 2010/11, he was the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship which he utilized to research the Kenting Coral Reef of Taiwan on site. His work resulted in a collaborative exhibition at the National Museum of Marine Biology of Taiwan.(Website:craigvoligny.com)

Tat-keung, Andy TAM (Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong Art critic and cultural industry researcher) Graduated at the University of the Arts London, Wimbledon College of Art (UAL). He also participates in the projects of Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong (2018), Silk Road International Art Festival (2017), The 3rd Kunming Art Biennale (2016), Shenzhen Biennale of Contemporary Art (2015), Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/ Architecture (Shenzhen and Hong Kong (2012 & 2015)), Kwangju Art Biennial (2005), Guangzhou Art Triennial (2005), MAAP Media Art Festival (2004), Ho Chi Minh Fine Arts Museum (2000), Taiwan IT Park Gallery (2000), Taiwan Huashan Arts District (2000), Hong Kong Biennale of Art (1996 & 1998) etc. He also performed at Malaysia National Visual Arts Gallery (2000) etc, and his art writings were released in MIT-LEA Press, 2nd APAEC (Asia-Pacific Art Education Conference), 2nd Guangzhou triennial, Korean National Commission for UNESCO etc. His practice-based research focuses on the resurgence of Pop Art to Neo+Post Pop Art and employs art practice by experimenting new art forms regarding political/ social/ economic/ technological/ cultural contexts. Now he is an assistant professor in Hong Kong Baptist University- Beijing Normal University, United International College (UIC), Zhuhai China.

Dr Guido ALVAREZ

Guido Alvarez was born in Cuenca, Ecuador where he obtained his BFA in crafts and graphic design from Universidad Del Azuay.
At 28 he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study a MFA in Visual Communication and Design at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. 
He has served roles as assistant professor of Design, Art, Animation, and Photography for several institutions in USA, Ecuador and China. He has also served as program director in Quito, Ecuador.
In 2015 Alvarez completed his PhD with research focused on cyborg theory and hyper-reality. He then moved to China to work for Wenzhou-Kean University as well as online instructor of Design Thinking and Innovation for Laureate Education Corporation.
His research interest focuses on cross-cultural and multilingual communication design as well as in experiential learning.

Miguel Elizalde is a Spanish artist and educator interested in the role of body sensations that are embedded in the perceptual process. He holds an MFA with honors from the Rhode Island School of Design, a MA by the School Agency and two BAs by the Basque Country University in Spain.

As an artist, words were his first tool, later was video and currently is space & sound. Nowadays, most of his work is about the presence of infrasound in public spaces, however, he continues using any of these three tools depending on the project. He has exhibited in Europe, Asia and America.

As an educator, he has been teaching courses at the intersection of Art, Design and Technology for the last 15 years in Europe and the United States. He is interested in artists working with brands and brands working with artists. During the last decade, he also works as a creative consultant for international clients.

Dr. Yuan received her Master’s degrees in University of Edinburgh and Ulster University in Design and digital media, and Communication, Advertising, and Public Relations respectively. She received her PhD degree in Communication studies in Hong Kong Baptist University in 2017 and participated the PhD student exchange programme in Lund University (Sweden). She was the lecturer in Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Campus. The research experience, conference participation, teaching experience including Final Year Project supervision may enhance the teaching and research. She specializes in new media studies and culture industry research.

Dr. Janey Huang received her Ph.D. in Communication from University of Macau. She has been teaching at UIC since 2010 on the field of Visual Communication and New Media Arts. From undergraduate to postgraduate,Dr. Huang’s education background was from international. She received her degree from Singapore Lasalle College of the Arts. In 2007, she graduated with a Master degree in Digital Media from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom. Her doctoral dissertation in conducted in consultation with Prof.Tong Schirato, and aimed to investigate how subjectivity and gender identity are played out in the virtual world, Dr. Huang’s research interests include digital media; gender theory; the work of Judith Butler, Michel Foucault and Pierre Bourdieu. Dr. Janey Huang has more than 12 years of academic experience includes teaching in the UK, Singapore and mainland China. During her time working at UIC, Dr. Janey Huang was the supervisor of the 6th National Advertising Art Design Competition for College Students. Her students won the first prize, also recognized as the second and third prizes in nationalwide. Apart from teaching, Dr. Janey Huang’s research papers have been accepted by international conferences such as ICA and IAMCR.
