Dr. Fanqin Meng currently works as an Assistant Professor of Music at UIC. She has attended the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing for her bachelor's degree, studied with professor Wing ho. In the year 2009, Dr. Meng won a scholarship from the San Francisco conservatory of music and obtained a master's and a postgraduate diploma in 2011. In the same year, Dr. Meng attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studied with professor Sally Chisholm. Dr. Meng obtained her Doctor of Music and Arts degree in 2016. As a soloist, Dr. Meng ‘s performance experiences are outstanding and virtuoso. She has played her personal recital in both China and the USA.

From 2015 to 2016, Meng was working with Professor Chen Yi (Famous Composer and who has been elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences in 2005) for a dissertation and first recording of her viola concerto-Xian shi in North America.
